In January- it will just stop working! (Note this is the free express version not the paid for)

We're constantly working to improve our tools for you. And to give you the best creative and collaborative experience, we need to focus on our main products. This means that starting January 30, 2024, Capture One Express will no longer be available.

You’ll be able to use Express until January 30, and all your images and edits will also be available until this date.

Starting January 30, you won’t be able to download or use Express from our website. Also, you can’t activate any Express license keys after January 30, even though you downloaded the license key before this date.

We’ll end all support for Express after January 30.

... the sooner Affinity bring out their version of Lightroom the better!

I'm still running CP1 version 12 I think!

A while back I'd have been all over that, but the AI noise reduction in LR has been a revelation for me, and the background blur shows promise too.

Good, means they can focus more on developing their main software.

Been using it since V12 and it gets better and better as far as I’m concerned with me now only rarely having to use other software (Affinity in my case).

I stopped at 3.7.9! I didn't like the interface after that.

I made good money from 3.7; just a pity that RAW files keep changing with new cameras. I've tried Nikon NX-D but don't really like any of them.

I've compared AI noise reduction on:-
- Topaz - excellent, but you need to spend time to learn the controls / learn what works in what scenario.
- DxO PureRaw - very very good out-of-the-box. They've 2 levels - basic one is best for people, top-level seems better for objects (too many artifacts on faces using it). This is where i put my money, as I don't have the time to get the best out of Topaz
- ON1 - supposed to be very good, but didn't seem to work for me.
- Lr Classic - big step forwards, but definitely not as good as DxO and Topaz.
