I've just finished scanning my old slides and b&w negatives from too many moons ago.
I'm now looking to do what I can to enhance them. I can do quite a lot using GIMP on an image by image basis but really I'd like to batch them and I would also like to explore the AI image enhancement options.
As this is going to be a one off process I'm not looking to spend big money, and it needs to Linux or Windows based or an online.
Has anyone got any experience or recommendations in this?

I’ve just been through a similar exercise myself having digitised a load of 35mm slides and negatives originally taken take from the early 60’s onwards using Corel Paint Shop Pro to enhance the images.

There is one action that I always do on all of them which is a Smart Photo Fix - The Smart Photo Fix command is the best way to correct color, exposure, and lighting problems. You'll see how, with only one click, your photo is analyzed and corrections are suggested .
Here’s a quick demo of the tool on action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC-qik0M3ro

Corel does have a basic batch function whereby you can add a number of images in one go to apply the same enhancement' I can’t see any reference to a maximum number, I’ve just taken a entire folder of 200 images which it hasn’t complained about.

You can use other adjustments, you don’t have to use the smart photo fix, such as noise reduction, colour saturation, brightness amongst other action. Based on experience I would suggest the smart photo fix is the most suitable to get a decent result for all images.

It may not be the best out there but you can get a 30 day free trial if you want to give it a go

Now that's a thought. I used to use paintshoppro but forgot all about it, and a months free trial might be all I need.
Cheers.
