File size upload

This has probably already been done to death in here before and I'm sure I've seen it as well but I can't remember where.

There's a limit on the file size that can be upload to the PH web site but this obviously limits the quality but by using something like Flicker (?) you can post a thumbnail in here, which doesn't break the file size rules but is just a link where it's actually hosted so an be seen in all its glory.

Thumbsnap is the usual answer.

However after uploading there are several links to choose from, and I can never find the one that allows people to click on the reduced image to see the full size image one.

An ha! I finally got it!



Select original file, upload as Thumbnail.
This looks like it's taking ages and will never finish but it does.
And hey presto, a clickable thumbnail!

It couldn't be easier, I guess I shouldn't be so impatient

I've set one up already but couldn't get a thumbnail to show, all I can get is the actual http address itself.
While the link actually works it not particularly inviting, just a line of text.

If you know of a step by step idiots guide to I'd be grateful,

With Flickr I use the "Share Photo" option, and BB code.

As said the BBcode option in Flickr normally works well, just copy the BBcode link and paste into PH.

The file size limit is with Thumbsnap rather than PH itself, as images on Flickr are hotlinked to PH not uploaded to Thumbsnap you don't have to worry about that - just choose a sensible resolution option when sharing from Flickr.
