Canon Club

Is anyone a member of Canon Club (not paid for CPS etc). If so, did you have any issues with the account or getting a membership number etc? It seems that Canon support can't sort website out or my account!

I've just been looking for exactly that as the "Canon Club membership number" is a field on the Canon cashback claim form (thankfully not a mandatory field). There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the personal profile pages in the Canon Club that states what one's membership number is. Having said that. I'm struggling to see what the purpose of the "club" is - seems to offer no significant benefits that I can see. Just an excuse to expand their customer email list and spam you.

I thought you were starting up a rival to the legendary Nikon Owners Clud (started here by erudite PHers 15+ years ago).

It wasn't supposed to be a clud but whoever first typed it made the error, and it was known as a Clud ever after

Having just purchased a new Canon camera I've joined rhe Canon club. Not totally sure what the benefits are though yet, if any.

It's basically an excuse to hang on to personal details from CPS members who they booted off for not paying a yearly fee...

I think that if you buy something from the Canon shop, maybe approved dealers too, at the mo, as well as the Summer Savings discount, club members receive an additional 5% discount.
