Repair or new?

The autofocus on my not so old but out of warranty Tamron 70-200 2.8 has just stopped working.
Does anyone have a clue about likely repair costs? Or is it just not worth it nowadays?

My Sigma 70-200 f2.8 developed a sticky iris; Sigma fixed it for much less than a new lens. Don't know about Tamron though; guess you'd have to send it off for a quote.

Most repairers give free quotes.
