March 2023 Photo Competition
Discussion
The subject is Your View - Winter. Although there's been a recent Winter comp, It's been an excellent winter weatherwise with snow, ice, frost etc. The added limitation is it must have been taken within a short distance of your home. Let's say max one hour travel time.
Show us your best shot from nearby with the effects of cold weather you've experienced. Outdoor fires in the snow, Jack Frost on windows, snowy tire tracks in a white landscape, stone walls crisscrossing fields, all good subjects but not the only ones.
Rules as per usual: but with a new rule regarding results/next competition.
The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at any time, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
You can only submit one, and only one photo.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.
If the judge fails to pick a winner after 3 days any winner in the last 12 months may pick a winner and, if the winner does not pick a subject within the next 48 hours, will also set the next months subject.
The winner should update the Photography Competition Photo Challenge Wiki
Entries and discussion on this single thread please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

A few years back when we had bad winter weather, waited til the snow had thawed just enough for me to take the 911 out for a quick drive around some local roads and see how it handled. Just love the winter look.

I was torn between two images, but chose this one, as it was taken within 100ft of my front door:

I totally meant to announce results at the weekend... and promptly forgot. Sorry all.
Third place to noell35. Gotta love a hoarfrost morning by the river. Congratulation on getting what looks like a tricky exposure

Just a 5 minute drive from me, we discovered this walk in lockdown.
Last time I was time I was there I got shouted at by a grumpy man who told me I was trespassing, he was walking his dogs there too!
Photo taken on phone and quick edit in Lightroom.
