Does anyone know where I can donate old manual-focus equipment in the UK?

I have some that I would like to move on, mainly Olympus OM-system lenses and accessories and some Pentax and Tamron. Nothing particularly high end, and they have just been sitting in cupboards for a long time.

Obviously, I could eBay them, but they are not worth a huge amount and if anyone knows somewhere that they would be used, I would be happy to donate them.

I can’t imagine there’s anyone except collectors who’ll be interested now.

You may be surprised. I had a load of Olympus gear which a I sold to a dealer a couple of years back. Depending what you have you may get a better than expected price for it. Some stuff is next to worthless but other is a lot rarer & is worth selling. I got rid of a couple of bodies, T32 flash, various lenses & a few other bits & bobs. think I got around 500quid for it.

Thanks both for your replies.

I had assumed collectors only, although there is a weird film-renaissance that seems to be continuing. I have emailed my local camera club to answer the same question and if they don't have someone that wants it, eBay it is.

Agreed. eBay is where I go for buying and selling s/h camera stuff. You just have to spend a little time on the advert when selling. A photo is worth 1,000 words and all that smile

I have a Pentax camera and you mentioned some Pentax bits. What do you have?

My wife runs a small afterschool photography club , where the aim is to get kids to go out and shoot using a camera rather than their phones, some of the kids have been handed down some old SLRs etc , I'm sure they would be very interested in any old equipment , I've been tasked with getting the stuff that isnt working , working. A lot of jammed up lenses etc as you can imagine

You don't accept emails via here so could you possibly email me? Many thanks
