I'm using Photoshop and Adobe Bridge (CS6) - I know it's an old version, but it was the last non-subscription version and still does far more than I need.

In Bridge, when browsing photos, the camera exif data - ISO, aperture, shutter speed etc.. is helpfully displayed:

The same info is also displayed when you open the photo from Bridge in Camera Raw:

When you then open the file in Photoshop itself, this info is available by clicking on File/File Info, which opens a window with the exif data:

I often find, when editing a file in Photoshop, I'd like to check on the camera settings particularly the ISO used, as this often will affect exactly which preset I use for noise reduction using "unsharp mask".

Whilst I can obviously open the file info window, it would be FAR more convenient if the exif info was visible in the main photoshop work area:

Would anyone know if there is a way to set this up, or any other way to have the exif data displayed automatically in the main work area?

Many thanks for any advice.

Probably not possible - a fairly clear requirement and can't find anything online for a guide so I'm guessing it's not possible.

Oh and nothing wrong with CS6 - still using a copy of Photoshop 7 here daily.

I was using CS2 until last year. Worked just as well as it did in 2006.
