I had a magazine article with photos published recently and wanted to get it printed out so that I can have it framed for my study.
The magazine production company very kindly sent me the high quality proofs in pdf format - they can’t print them out themselves as they only deal with large print runs.
Anyone know where I can get these printed out onto decent quality paper - someone like Prontaprint springs to mind if they still exist!

Maybe by opening the PDFs in Photoshop 300dpi then saving as JPEG at level 10, then sending to loxleycolour.com for printing

Are you wanting to extract the photos and print only those? Or do you want to print the magazine spread as laid out?

If the latter then any local printing company or display printing outfit should be able to run you off a good quality digital print - though Loxey Colour is a good call too.

If you're looking to extract the images, the same applies but it's likely that the size the images appear on the spread is the maximum you'll get without starting to see degradation in quality.

If it's a print magazine, can you not get hold of a copy and frame the the spread your contribution is on? I would have thought this would appear a lot more 'cool'! smile

I think the photos were his to start with, so he'll have them somewhere already.

For the whole page, can photo printers can handle PDFs? If not, then as said, open PDF in PS, save as max res JPG, go to print.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I’m wanting the entire article so with photos embedded as shown - it consists of a double page spread which has a photo of my car spread across both pages together with text then another page with photos and text.
Yes they’re my photos!

Anywhere, absolutely anywhere, that prints stuff can print a PDF.

There's nothing clever about the format, images embedded within it are almost certainly JPEGs anyway.

Cheers guys,
Got in touch with Prontaprint and they are very reasonable £1.20 + VAT per A4 page on 300GSM paper
