Camcoder for Buiding Site Work
Discussion
I would use a cheap phone. Most will give you perfectly good video footage for this sort of thing and being a phone, even if you don't put a SIM in it and just use wifi, it will be very easy to link it to a google or whatever account you want to upload the videos or store them.
Only caveat which also applies to cheap cameras is filming in low light will be difficult, results will be variable.

What features in a camcorder are you looking for? Will you need to zoom in to things that are hard to get to or is it for things literally in front of you as you walk around?
A phone/GoPro won't cut it if you need to zoom in to things that you can't get close to.
The cheapest Sony camcorder is about £200

But I can't find any in stock after a quick Google.
edit - it's available direct from Sony

If you don't need zoom or particularly good audio then one of the GoPro clones would be perfectly fine, Amazon is full of them. Just get a mini-tripod that you can comfortably hold on to.
