Evening all,

Could anyone recommend an external microphone I could use with a Canon R6? Just needs to have a 3.5mm jack and be hotshoe mounted.

I'm specifically looking for something that will cut down on wind noise when I'm recording my son's rugby matches.

I use this one with my Canon R5.

Decent build quality and sound.

Hope this helps.

Not only is it cheap yet from a reputable manufacturer, Amazon can also deliver it by 1pm tomorrow, so I'll get to try it out on his last school game of the season at 3pm! woohoo

That's a decent little mic.... but to cut down on wind noise, you'll need to use the dead cat (the furry cover) that comes with it.

Checking that it did indeed come with said deceased feline was a key element of the selection process! smile

I may need to play around with the attenuation settings on the camera a little to get the absolute best out of this Mic in arctic gales like this afternoon, but it was still an immense improvement over the camera mic!

Thanks again to S1bs for the recommendation, I'm chuffed to bits with it! smile

You could add this to your arsenal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xio4kHpRjs4

£99 but well worth it.
