DSLRs and WiFi.

Hello, I'm new round these parts, I spend most of my time over in Homes, Gardens and DIY but I have a question about cameras.
With the advent of the iPhone I put my old cameras to one side. The last time I used an SLR it was a Nikon F4 and I'd like to get back to being able to choose which lens I use, this time with a digital camera.
One feature I like with the iPhone is the seamless integration with an iPad or a MacBook. Photos are downloaded automatically over wifi and ready to be viewed in seconds.
I've used a Canon compact that transferred photos over WiFi by going into settings and faffing about but it was time consuming and not that reliable.
Do Canon or Nikon, or anyone else make a DSLR that will transfer photographs to an iPad in a similar way an iPhone does?

Yep - though only have experience of Nikon. And do check the model as not all have the facility. It's on my 7200 and 850.
Just download the Nikon app and sync across using wifi or NFC.
I'm sure there's a way to send onto Photos automatically.
I rarely use the facility as I'm shooting RAW so have 40mb per shot to contend with.

Lumix G9 user here.
There is an app Lumix Sync that connects to the camera (initially as bluetooth to turn the camera WiFi on) and allows you (almost) fully control the camera, and automatically can send pictures to your phone/tablet. You cans also (I believe as I've not tried) send the images straight to Lightroom or Photoshop Express on you phone/tablet and then edit -> post to online/social sites.
Stuff has come on a long way!

The connection can occasionally be unreliable but when it works, it works really well. Same with most small Wi-Fi based devices to be honest.
