August 2021 Photo Competition - Your Best Shot
Discussion
In a bid to gather as many entries as possible I'm going set a very open topic:
Your Best Shot
Any subject or style of photography you like shot on any camera, but I want you to show me the best photo you think you've ever taken.
Good luck!
Rules:
The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
You can only submit one, and only one photo.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.
Entries and discussion on this single thread please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

I'll go in first then.
Still my favourite shot, taken about 10 years ago on a Nikon D7000.

Recent car shoot I was on, this one sticks in my mind, nice and low! Owner was very happy with it anyway.

In the absence of a chat thread, I'm posting this but not as an entry as it won another PH comp a while back.
It's not my favourite shot but probably technically the best as panning at night is damn tricky. Luck also plays a part as this is 1 out of a couple of hundred blurred ones.

Hardest comp yet! Struggled to pick from motorsport, travel, landscape, wildlife etc.
I'll be lazy and go with my favourite (which I don't think is my 'best', but hey...)

I agree - i have some photos that are my firm favourites, but not necessarily my best. So, I'm going with one that I like, not neccesarily one with the most Flickr views. My eldest son on the bridge in front of Caban Coch dam - Elan Valley

Late afternoon in Pondicherry, India. Small groups would gather to stare out to sea and talk as the sun sets behind them.
I have always liked this shot as the canopies could be two huge UFO’s until they are bought back to earth by the guy touching one and establishing the correct scale once more.

A 360 panorama taken at Le Train Bleu after a particularly delightful lunch - rum baba to die for!
Who ever knows their real 'best', but this one brings a smile to my face. A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful city.
