Photo Printing Services
Discussion
Hi all, I am looking for reccomendations please for any photo printing websites (or shops) that people use? It's been a while since this topic has cropped up according to the search function so I thought I would start a new thread.
I am wanting to get some images printed off, mainly family holiday photos 7 x 5 size taken with either an iphone x or above or a mid range point and shoot digital camera. I have used Photobox this week and the quality isn't great, I'm happy to pay and wait for the right quality rather than go for the X free prints per month option if anybody can reccomend one please.
Does anybody use one they can suggest I try please?
thanks

I use https://dscolourlabs.co.uk/ for all prints up to about 18 inches along the long edge. Very reasonable prices, but P&P is about £5 per order.
For larger prints and wall art, I tend to use Loxley Colour. A bit more expensive, but fantastic results and quality. I believe they offer a free colour correction service.

Thanks for the replies, I will check both of these out.
Regarding the images - they are just run of the mill phone/Nikon Coolpix camera in the standard modes with no editing. I appreciate that this might be the root of my problem but I have previously used Costco for images that were of good enough quality but I no longer have a Costco card, the images from Photobox weren't up to the same quality as the Costco ones.
Thanks.

I use Photobox for all my prints and photobooks. Their quality is usually excellent even from phone photos and have yet to be unhappy with a single pic they have printed. Is it possible that somehow, that the quality of some of the files you are sending to them are poor ?
Do they look good on a computer screen ?
Are they the original files direct from the phone / camera rather than downloaded from whatsapp / facebook / twitter ?
I'd suggest getting a few test images ordered from another supplier first, to check that the quality is improved before sending a big order to someone
else.
Hope this helps
John
We USED TO use Photobox about 10 years ago (prints, calendars and books), then noticed the quality was getting worse. They may have picked up since then, but we've not risked it...
Tried a few people since then, and for prints DSCL are consistently very good, for calendars Yophoto have the best design-engine and quality is decent if not perfect, and for books Cewe are hard to beat.

Thanks for the replies.
I have sent the same prints that I ordered with Photobox to Snapfish for a comparison. If these are the same I will then move to DS colour labs as per the other suggestions.
I will report back.
If the ones from Photobox are the same then the problem is the file quality/resolution, not the print company.I have sent the same prints that I ordered with Photobox to Snapfish for a comparison. If these are the same I will then move to DS colour labs as per the other suggestions.
I will report back.
