I’ve had a look around the net and perhaps I’m wording my search incorrectly but I’ve not had much success. I use Cokin filters and the standard holder and I’ve been looking for filters that only allow UV through. Can anyone recommend one that’ll fit in the standard Cokin holder??

I've never looked at UV photography, so I took a look here https://kolarivision.com/getting-started-uv-photog... but that's possibly just promoting their own product. Do you have a converted camera?

Not for UV that’s why I’m looking at external filters
Well from what I've read, that really isn't enough. You'll need a converted camera, suitable lens or lenses, and a UV light source. It's not simple!

The main hurdle is that cameras and lenses are usually designed to remove UV, not allow it through.

Is this something you want to do just out of interest?

In future maybe use 'ultraviolet photography' as the search term if you were using 'UV' before.

Wikipedia has some useful info and links https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet_photogra...

I like to experiment and that’s why I’m getting one converted to IR. it was watching David Attenborough’s Colours of nature series and UV photography was employed to see how animals see. It got me interested but looking at the added expense I’m having second thoughts. I thought it was just a simple case of adding a UV band pass filter but obviously not that simple. IR can be achieved by using an IR filter without having to go the whole hog with converting the camera. It’s just a lot better as with a IR filter exposure time needs to be a lot longer

Maybe bide your time and keep an eye out for used equipment? Outdoor UV should be possible in bright sunlight, and old uncoated lenses might be suitable and cheap.

Thanks. I’ll bear that in mind
