wondering if anyone can help on this.

I've tried googling info on this but haven't found much. i'm aware many people like to use DSLRs, along with many other cameras as webcams instead of using the in-built one on their laptop, or getting a dedicated webcam. I do have a dedicated webcam..but it's a 10yr old Logitech quickcam pro 5000 with terrible exposure range and no way of me to adjust it's exposure.

as I've got a fujifilm x20 i figure it'd be quite cool to use this (if possible) as a webcam. Can it be done?

Does your fuji have HDMI out?

Something like an elgato camlink should work - that plugs into usb of your laptop, plug camera into camlink with hdmi, and now you should be able to use the video feed with anything like zoom, skype etc

Theres many other usb video caprure dongles about, but i've heard the elgato stuff is fairly solid

I know it's not Fuji, but Canon have released software to enable the use of a wide range of their DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras to be used as webcams. It's pretty painless and I'm using a 5d3 with 24-105 (f/4) or a 17-40 (f/4) on twice weekly zoom meetings.

Are there any downloads on the Fuji site that may offer this functionality?

Can you charge the camera whilst using it? If not you may need to buy a dummy battery.

With HDMI outputs from cameras you can be around 4 frames behind the audio if you are not running audio through the camera.

Just something to think about.
