Evening All,
So i've had my Canon 550d for years now but finding i've only used it a handful of times in the past 2-3yrs as my iPhone has just been a whole lot easier.

I'm now looking towards doing some video work for youtube, mostly for a detailing channel, and possibly if i have time I'll also do some on lawn care. (I'm proper middle aged now!).

I have a decent tripod, 50mm f1.4 lens, and the 18-55mm kit lens, along with a very decent Rode Stereo Videomic Pro, plus battery packs galore. From research so far, it looks like i've got 2 main routes towards doing decent quality video work.

1) Upgrade the 550d, towards another Canon with at least 1080p/60fps and also a flip out screen.
2) Sell up the whole lot and put it towards a more dedicated camera like the Sony ZV1.

Anyone done something similar, or can share their thoughts? My gut feel is saying the ZV1 would be the better choice, as whilst the inbuilt lens may reduce the endless possibilities of using an SLR with separate lenses, I'm more likely to use it due to ease of use.

It's clearly good enough in terms of specs and actual visual performance, but i'm concerned about the internal mic vs the Rode Pro that I already have as I don't believe i can link the Rode to the Sony.

Have you had a look at the Fuji line up?

I've been impressed with the video on mine (X-T3), came across from a Canon 5D MKII.

Look at Magic Lantern https://magiclantern.fm/ before spending any money. It transforms EOS cameras with a new video-centric OS.

It's free and can be rolled back to the factory settings with no problems.
