Olympus out: Panasonic or what?
Discussion
Olympus aren’t quite out of it as they’ve been bought out and have new lenses out soon. I’ve seen a roadmap of bodies and lenses that are under development - whether that will come to fruition remains to be seen. Because they’ve been bought out doesn’t mean the cameras will stop working and they’re currently doing some cracking deals - you can get an EM10 Mk3 with kit lens for £399. Flog the kit lens on eBay and you have a brand new body for £300 or so.
If you don’t want Olympus any more, then I’d be looking towards Fuji as their range is similar in size.

Well, my reason for asking is that I work with a 2005 E300 which is built like a tank and has never been serviced. It's getting a bit tired and I only use the macro/tele 35mm which is a cracking lens. Last year I bought the EM10/3 but after one drop it failed on me and I had to send it for repair. I basically played rugby with the trusty E300... So, I'm a bit dissapointed: it's just not a robust camera as it seems. If you don’t want Olympus any more, then I’d be looking towards Fuji as their range is similar in size.
I've been looking into Fuji and I like the image quality. - I guess I have to wait what the repair shop says Cheers.
I've got a Panasonic G7, micro 4/3rds. Great camera, easy to use, small for what it is, light fwis, and the images and video are great, without mitigation.
However, many full frame mirrorless cameras are shrinking in size and the difference is not as significant as it was just 5 years ago. Would I go M4/3 again in a similar situation? I'm not so sure, despite loving my G7. Mind you, I'm going to stick with what I've got as I've got quite a lot that's specific, perhaps going for a G5 body once lockdown is completely over.

I've become quite fond of Fuji, I bought an old XT1 just to try out the system and now I find myself using it more often than my D7200. Really enjoyable to use, good intuitive manual controls etc.
Unless I'm shooting motorsport or wildlife that is, because the Nikon has hugely better AF (especially for tracking moving objects) and I don't have any long fast lenses for Fuji.
