Nice A subject that would have enabled people to actually take some photos might have been more fitting rather than using the subject as a dig at someone making unfavourable and unjustified comments on the last month competition thread.
FWIW I really enjoy seeing the images that RobDickinson posts and have no problem with his winning the last competition, it would just be nice if there was a subject this month that enabled new photos to be taken.
One from my back catalogue, although it isn't massively over saturated. Overlooking the bay of Kotor in Montenegro...

A harder topic than I thought. I absolutely detest over saturated photos, however when I look at my collection I found plenty of good landscape shots that have more then a whiff of saturation! Rather than go for one of the well known locations I've picked this one. I can almost guarantee no one could pinpoint it's location, however it is on the NC500 so plenty on this forum will have driven along the road this was taken from.

Intrigued by that remark I went back and looked at last month's competition thread, (I don't usually bother with the competition threads) and I'd have to say that the comments you refer to are not IMO unjustified.

[quote=C&C] Not wanting to be awkward or anything, but given that we are not allowed to go wandering the countryside at the moment and likely won't be for quite a few weeks/months, how are we supposed to take any landscape shots to then oversaturate? My garden might be a reasonable size but it certainly isn't a landscape.
Urban landscape? Landscapes don't have to be countryside fields and mountains. A wide angle shot of your street or back gardens from an upstairs window. It may not be as picturesque but that just drives the challenge to make it interesting in some way, maybe being clever in the composition.DibblyDobbler said:

Nice Above all let's keep it amicable - this is all just for fun after all

Equally, although submitting a shot taken in the current month is preferable it's always been the case that for the Photo Comp the shot can be taken at any time so feel free to ruin rework an old photo if you want to enter.

I daresay that's always been the case, but surely the whole point of a photo competition is to get people to take pictures specifically for the competition? I really can't see the point in people rifling through their back catalogue looking for pictures that they took some time ago and for some other reason. Although I would have to say that the characteristically vague competition subjects do make searching for suitable entries very easy.Above all let's keep it amicable - this is all just for fun after all

Well back in the distant past there was a 'Photography Challenge' iirc which was specifically for Photos taken that month - again iirc it died a death due to lack of interest... so in order to try and keep folk interested and contributing, the 'Competition' was made open ended with fairly non-specific subjects. The moral of the story? You can't please everyone
