Pixy - Image theft etc...
Discussion
I know nothing about Pixy. I do know, however, that there's nothing like a 'slam dunk' case. That's not how the law operates.
If it were me, I'd ensure that I was not letting myself in for any counter claims, that I was not going to be hit by any costs, and that it is worth all the effort.

... yeah, thats what I'm worried about... I don't think its worth all the faff for me tbh... and potential outcomes... I might contact the offenders (major car manufacturer) directly maybe... its been on their site for 5 years (!!) I was going to sue a rather large 'company'. The lawyer, lovely bloke, said that I ticked all the boxes. He was very positive. He then listed all the negatives. He said he would not advise me of which way to go, but in fact he did. I thanked him and walked away (after paying him). It was excellent 'advice'.
I'm not sure if the 'no win, no fee' types might make it a bit different.

I take it you mean Pixsy? They are a respectable organisation and I have heard from others that they have successfully negotiated claims. I had one image used by a US travel company on their web-site which Pixsy pursued for me but with a zero outcome unfortunately. I have had others but sometimes they aren't able to take action (because the website is hosted in Russia for example). I don't think you have anything to lose using them and you may earn yourself a few dollars. Chasing it yourself would be very time consuming. I think you also have to decide what result you are looking for and if it is just for them to stop using your image, Pixsy will send a "take it down" notice.

Has anyone used these guys before to successfully get payment from unauthorised use of an image ?
I have a bit of a slam dunk case I think which has been accepted by them to pursue... but not sure if to go ahead... just need to "sign" the documents...
Have you contacted the people who published your photo without authorisation and asked for payment? That is the first thing to do to establish they are refusing to pay you.I have a bit of a slam dunk case I think which has been accepted by them to pursue... but not sure if to go ahead... just need to "sign" the documents...
