OK, this is probably heresy for this forum.

I'm been taking photos for about 30 years. 35mm, some medium format, then digital from basic Olympus in 2003 through to Canon 30/40D with primes, then Panasonic 4/3rds and then Fuji XT20 with primes. I share this to highlight that I roughly know one end of a camera from another.

I mostly use the kit these days for capturing my fast moving kids.

Most recently I upgraded my phone to an iphone 8 and was genuinely impressed by the photos. Definitely equal to a pocket iXUS, etc

I had read some reviews by people I respect (e.g. Ken Rockwell )

...and then I treated myself (with a reasonable deal) to an iPhone 11 pro and to be honest, I'm pretty amazed.

Using in camera default settings, no post processing, shooting into the sun. Casual shots on a beach in a 40mph wind.

OK, not going to win awards, but it is always with me.
Everything is geo-tagged and uploaded to the cloud.
Workflow for sharing is seconds.
Instant review on a good sized and colour accurate (for my purposes) screen.

Anyhow, I will still shoot with my XT20, but suspect that the majority of my shots will now be iPhone.

Thoughts? Any camera apps I should consider (tried Halide and VCSO and not that impressed)

I have the 11 pro max and have used most (if not all) the RAW apps.

The camera is good - very good for a small sensor phone, but nothing like as good as the equally pocketable Sony RX100 mk 6 or Canon G5X mk 2 - so I'll stick with those. I do understand however, that having an extra £2ks worth of cameras in your pocket is not normal!

ETA: Of them, I quite liked Camera+2 and ProCamera apps.
