Quick question, does anyone know of any camera insurance policies that are designed just to cover a single trip abroad? My household insurance covers my gear here in the UK but with a trip to Costa Rica coming up I'd like to have my gear covered over there. Standard travel policies don't get close to covering the value of the gear I'll have with me (not found anything higher than £3k in total and most only cover up to around £500 per single item). Getting a full years worth of camera insurance seems a little excessive just to cover it for one trip, but if this is the only option it's obviously the option I'll take.

TIA.

It might be easier/cheaper to upgrade your household policy. We've been using M&S Premier for the last few years as it offers unlimited household cover and up to £50k worldwide cover: https://bank.marksandspencer.com/pdf/HIsummaryofco...

Funnily enough my H&C insurance is due for renewal shortly. The M&S policy looks good although camera gear abroad isn't part of the standard cover, it can of course be added though.

I've used Glover and Howe for years for camera insurance and they've always been helpful and efficient. I don't know if they do short-term policies but if your home insurance won't extend cover then it's definitely worth asking.

I use E&L - if you buy the lunar policy you get four weeks cover and can cancel at any time. I see that they are now trading as something else, but I assume it is the same underlying comapny and cover: https://www.theinsuranceemporium.co.uk/products/ca...

Thanks for that, I'll have a look at that.
