So...
I'm looking to create a new channel, with the intention of getting a lot of subs on board to try to make some real cash (not just the £112 I made last year) and am trying to come up with some ideas, something that can be done in a few hours a week maybe, something maybe I could do from my "home studio" (spare room!) - I have very high production standards
Here’s a reality check. If you’re not willing to put in the hard work, nothing you do will be a success. If you only want to do a few hours a week, forget it. Almost every successful person I know works their tits off.

It doesn’t matter what the business is, expect it to consume your life for the first few years at least, if you want it to be successful.

Film something you do on a regular basis.
Make it engaging.

Did I say I'm not wiling to? No.

"A few hours a week" could be 2, 3, 4 hours a day - on-top of a real job, life etc that's a lot of time.
So this is just a hobby then?

And therein lies a dilemma. Creating anything of any worth takes time. It’s a numbers game. The more you put in, the more you get out.

Asking a public forum for ideas for a business suggests you really aren’t willing to put in the hard hours. It appears you want spoon feeding, instead of doing your own research.

And why on earth would anyone with a genuinely good idea, share it here with you?

I presume you have had a particularly bad Christmas? You seem to have inner anger. hug?
I’m actually trying to impart what I feel is some valuable advice. If you think I’m attacking you, that’s says quite a lot about you. Clearly you just want to hear only positive things about yourself and your ideas, so I’ll happily leave you to it.

Please do, I would also ask the you delete all of your trolling comments.
You have been entirely un-useful, negative, aggressive, and seem to be under the impression that I have the time and/or funds do do this full time.

Moving on...

He's right though.

Aside from the time/reward bit which has been covered, the best channels (same as normal 'normal' businesses) come as an extension to something you already do, or solve a problem you come up against. If you have to think too hard for something it's unlikely to be right.

He does have a point though...

If your hearts not in it, you're not going to enjoy it, you're not going to put the effort in that it takes to make it worth your time.

YOU need to do something YOU like and enjoy... Otherwise you're likely to give in at the first hurdle.

+ another in agreement. Macan guy is right even if his delivery method wasn't to your liking. You did the car project presumably because you enjoyed it along with editing and production of the videos to share with people who were interested in it. From your OP you're now bored of doing car projects but still want some income from YT and are looking for people to tell you what will make money. That isn't going to work! You need to find something else that you enjoy doing and share it on YT because you want to and have a strong passion for it without any monetary considerations. Producing content just to make money is path of failure for 99.9% of YTers. Pretty much every successful YTer started off creating content because they had a strong passion for whatever it is they do and put 25 hrs a day into it until they got 100k subscribers and were invited to the partner program where they could just about give up their day job.

You all appear to be mis-reading this is the same, incorrect way - very, very few people are able to "dedicate 25 hours a day" to building a youtube channel.
I am not a 15 year old who lives with my parents, I have a full time job & responsibilities, hence wanting to dedicate a few hours a day/week to creating something fun and see where is goes.

I was just politely looking for some ideas based around the interests etc that I listed, but it seems this thread has gone very septic some how.

So Lets just leave this here shall we. Topic closed.

And very few will make 'some real money' from it, as you wanted before you edited it.

Not sure what's difficult to understand here, you've already got 3000 subs, to get more the answer is more work, more time, more videos, more more more. If you've not got it, or won't put it in...
