i am having snags getting photos from a folder on the PC to iCloud to be visible on the iPad. I do have iCloud for windows installed on the PC and all the boxes ticked on the options for photos.

Photos transferred ok from the memory card to a folder on the PC. I then copy the photos into the “Upload” folder within ICloud for Windows.

The first batch copied ok and appeared eventually in the photos app on the iPad. I then created a shared folder and all worked well.

Batch 2 of the photos were then copied to the “Upload” folder as before. No matter how long I wait (12 hours now) the photos do not appear in the Photos app on the iPad.

Really frustrating but I am sure I am doing something daft. Any idea what I am missing?

For info, when I take photos with the iPhone, they appear really quickly on the “Download” folder in ICloud for windows.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have told the Mrs we need to buy a iMac but she isn’t having any of it!!

We do have a MacBook Air and I am sure it will work on that but that is not the point. I want to solve this problem!!!

TIA

Have you reached your storage limit?

Nope. Did it easily on the MacBook.

Mmmm. Well, it could be any number of things; corrupt file in the batch, dropped connection. I've also found that the Photos app sometimes doesn't like RAW files.

The way you've described the process though seems different to my reading of how best to manage uploads. Admittedly this may be a PC thing.

I've set up my iCloud so that the desk top on my home iMac is accessible on my work MacBook. So if I put a folder on either I can see it from the other (in a folder called Desktop iCloud). To put photos into the Photos App, I have to drag (or select them) as imports - they won't automatically appear in the App unless I do this.

The only time a photo automatically appears in Photos is if I take something on my phone.

Might be worth checking that the folder of photos is on iCloud but needs the photos to be manually imported into Photos.
