Moving on from phones to cameras whilst being small

it seems to be a good attempt at something small, especially with the pancake lens, that you can take anywhere.
My daughter has a low/ mid range Moto G phone and also a huge Canon G3X with zoom that she uses but only around the house / garden, because it is so big.
I was wondering if this would be a good compromise to bridge both ? The amount of kit you get for that price seems quite good.
