I am looking at doing some more video shooting and editing as part of a project.

It's not going to be for commercial use or even remotely down that line, more just c0cking about with some friends so I would rather not spend DJI sort of money. If I enjoy it and get into it I can revisit this down the line and might well invest some more coins.

For now, are there any recommendations for a semi-decent drone/gimbal to use to record? As I say, doesn't have to be all singing or 4k HD film quality, just enough for a family video.

Oh, and easier to fly the better as never flown anything remotely like that before.

Drone - I have a DJI Mavic Air. I bought it second hand for about £700 and it’s amazing.

Gimbal - have GoPro with Karma Grip. Again awesome kit. Been everywhere with our family in past 3 years.

I know you said no DJI recommendations but...........

How about a DJI Spark, should be pretty cheap second hand. In my opinion it's not worth looking at other manufacturers products at the moment, you may as well spend a bit more cash and have something that produces half decent footage.
