I'm not sure if this would affect people out side the US but the EFF have raised some severe concerns about the new CASE act under discussion in the US:

Essentially it imposes a minimum $5000 charge for any alleged infringment with no means of appeal & there's concern this will lead to an explosion of copyright troll firms - there have already been a couple of posts in this forum by posters who have encountered these.
I've no idea if this would apply to those outside the US but I guess it might.

Before your time, I think, but PistonHeads and Mr. Schmitz had a bit of a contretemps, back in the day. He joined up, made a complete ass-hat of himself, was comprehensively ripped to shreds, and then there were several attempts to DDoS the site traced back to some of his associates.
Subsequently, there was a period when any post that contained his username just.....disappeared.
