Anyone used a Viltrox EF-EOS M adapter with an EOS M50?
Discussion
Hi folks,
I've just purchased an M50, and as I want to keep using my existing lenses (28mm f1.8 / 100mm f2.8 macro, 70-300mm IS and Sigma 10-20mm) I needed a converter as well. Given how costly the Canon converter is, I decided to try using a Viltrox EF-EOS M adapter instead (the dumb one, not the more expensive speed booster one) as it was a quarter of the cost.
Having received both today, I've just had a quick play, and whilst the lenses do work, and I'm getting perfectly acceptable image quality with it, it seems to have one big problem, which is that the AF seems to be constantly on! If, for example, I take a shot of something at a distance then point the camera at my feet to review the shot on the screen, the lens will start hunting to try and focus on my feet, even though I've not got my finger anywhere near the shutter button.
I've got the camera set to one-shot AF mode, but it's behaving as though I've got it set on Servo mode and still have the button half depressed, which is, in turn, making me half depressed!
Has anyone else found this problem? Is this a cheap adapter problem which means I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay for the Canon one, or have I just got a faulty Viltrox which I should be returning to Amazon as such?
It'll also be interesting to see whether - as so often is the case - a PH sub-forum can get me suitable answers more quickly than a dedicated forum such as, in this case, Photography On The Net.

HI KP - I used a different variety of Viltrox (Canon to Fuji) and didn;t have this issue - sorry if I am teaching you how to suck eggs but do you have Continuous AF enabled on the M50?
No, it's definitely in single shot AF, but even if it was in continuous, it shouldn't continue without the shutter button being half pressed, surely? DibblyDobbler said:
Well I don’t know for sure but a quick Google revealed this:
Continuous AF
Enable or disable continuous AF where the camera constantly tries to acquire focus, even without pressing the shutter. Turn this Off.

Yep, it turns out this was exactly it, thanks!Continuous AF

Why on earth anyone would ever want their lens continually trying to focus on their feet is a complete mystery to me! Not as much of a mystery as to why Canon would set it as the default option though!
