Heading off on our first proper summer holiday in September with our two year old who I think will spend much of her time in the water, rather than risk my iPhone or DLSR which I'm actually hoping to leave at home, I was thinking about buying a used Go-Pro with a waterproof housing and perhaps a selfie stick arrangement. I'm not familiar with all the models and I don't want to buy new, could anyone suggest a model and any specific accessories I should try and find on ebay to cover the aquatic fun?

Thanks

I'd buy a GoPro instead of a third party action cam as GoPro has great software and a decent interface. I have the GoPro Hero 4 Silver, it has a screen which is very useful and you can buy huge accessory packs online (third party) that contain everything you could ever need like chest mount, head mount, selfie stick, buoyant hand grip etc. etc.

You can pick up the above model secondhand for under £100 and IMO it's excellent. I'd buy a triple pack of third party batteries and a decent memory card and it'll last you ages.

Camerajungle and/or mob for 2nd hand go-pro.

Got my hero 4 from one of them a year or two ago, great condition, no issues.

No issues on buying a second hand GoPro but would suggest you buy a new waterproof case.

Mine is about four years old and noticed that the rubber seal had started to harden and I suspect may loose its waterproof-ness any time soon.
