Any of you fine chaps be willing to recommend a carry on, inflight camera bag. It needs to hold at least a DSLR body and 400 prime lens and as many other smaller lenses as possible. Others will have to go in the suitcase but I'm keen to keep that to a minimum. The bag is also required to carry a 15 inch laptop. There are a multitude on Amazon but it's very difficult to choose something suitable. Up until now I have been using a small rucksack for the camera equipment, with the lenses in separate protective cases. However this wasn't ideal and now I have the addition of the laptop so there's no room left.

I use a Lowepro Vertex 300 which also takes my 17" laptop and have got away with it so far, although it is slightly oversize.

I think the '200' version would be ok for you, but you would need to check.

My LowPro 250 has gone and continues to go everywhere with me. The camera section 'may' be a bit snug for what you have but the top section is cavernous enough for other in-flight stuff - books, headphones, etc.

I use a 250 fastpack and find it ideal, I don't use it for a computer but the specs do say it will take 15.4 notebook.

Keep in mind though that some airlines have strict weight limits for carry on bags - and enforce them!

I've been using a ThinkTank Streetwalker HardDrive for a few years now and ver happy with it. There's an improved version out since I got mine.

Yes. Good point. I've just learned I am going with Ryanair so it would appear that most will have to go in the suitcase. irked

I use a Lowepro Whistler 350 and comes in just under max size as a carry-on. I can usually fit Canon 5d my IV, 100-400 zoom, 70-200, 24-70 and a few other necessities. I quite like that it has a separate top section for personal bits and pieces, plus a large pocket for laptop / tablet. The only downside is that it ends up being some serious weight (luckily I’ve been on airlines that have generous allowances and so it’s not been an issue). The bag itself is very sturdy but it also is fairly hefty.
