Stabilizing go pro footage against rougher terrain hits
Discussion
I took my new Gopro hero 6 out yesterday on a MTB ride, secured to my bars via the official Gopro mount. Have to say I'm impressed, its certainly solid it seems.
My problem is that when I cycled over some tractor tyre marks, the internal image stabilization of the Gopro couldn't keep up, interestingly on the bigger rough stuff, the combination of the bikes suspension forks and internal IS worked well, so it looks like small but high frequency bumps are the issue.
Does anyone know if there is a small mechanical gimbal or shock plate that could damp these out these sort of vibrations?
I don't ideally want to use the chesty mount as you'll see my arms in shot all the time and I'll be recording a lot of footage (2 -3 weeks of touring). I'll be trying a helmet mount, but I suspect I'll forget to turn it on (out of sight, out of mind springs to mind )
I have had thoughts on designing and building my own (as I have a 3d printer) using some RC car shocks, but could end up being bulky, and space is at a premium.

I've been thinking about how good the stabilisation is now on MTB footage that it sort of takes the size out of it.
I tried a handlebar mount and had the same issue. I've put mine on the peak of my helmet, the rest of the helmet doesn't have a large enough flat surface for the adhesive mounts, so with a bit of modification, I used the handlebar mount on the peak. It works fine for me, but I don't do any huge drops.
