Photoshop crashing

I am not an advanced user of Photoshop - just modest photo editing. I am running Photoshop Elements 12 on a MacBook running MacOS Mojave.

Since upgrading to Mojave, Photoshop is crashing as soon as I open any image to edit. The photo appears, but as soon as I make any action - just clicking on it - Photoshop crashes and closes.

Any experts out there?

Does it say anywhere that PS Elements 12 will run on Mojave?

I think that's my problem.... I don't think it does and have only recently seen this through Googling.
