I will be taking some pictures at a local event next week, and I would like to be able to put them online somewhere so that people can see them and download them if they wish.

I've got a Flickr account but don't want to clog my photostream with what is basically reportage so would be interested in your suggestions.

Thanks in anticipation

Have you taken a look at Google Photos which I think allows sharing of photos. Not used it myself as yet so can't comment on how easy it is to use.

Just put them in a Facebook photo album.

Those with Facebook accounts can then access it directly and tag themselves / others.

Those without Facebook accounts can still be given the direct link like so:

Wix is a pretty good platform, free too if you don't mind an ad

Pixieset is nice and has a free tier for up to 3GB of photos.

Facebook compression is wk, so if you care about the quality of your images then don’t use it

Surely SingleCoil.com (or whatever your name is)... then, not only will you get your name out there, have endless space, but people will associate the results with the name.

I've had my domain for 20 years and currently have the top 8 hits on google, (com and co.uk) and have been in the top 1% of sites visited on the net for the past 15 years. Get it out there for long enough and get enough sites linking in, it sorts itself.

All IMHO of course. smile

ETA, punters don't need to know my name, 'music and photography highlands' gets me top spot too. The wonder of metatags.

You can put them in flickr, make an album, mark them as private, they won't show in your photostream, then provide those that need to know the direct link to the album.

Thank you Tog, Rob and Steve, this site is just what I've been looking for, which is somewhat ironic considering I had recommended Google Photos.
