OTG cable or something else?

I've got a 5d3 and wondered if it's possible to connect it to a mobile phone to upload pictures to social media? I was thinking on the lines of a mini to micro USB which would connect from the camera and my mobile would see it as an external drive. (Phone is a Huawei P10 lite).

I realise I can get wifi units, but a £5 cable sounds a better option for the very few times it would be needed.

I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. I have an OTG cable myself, although I don't use it that often - good cable to have lying around, especially when they're not too expensive. It's actually a pretty good idea when you're using a camera that's not your phone (think I might try this!)
