Sorry for the stupid question but how do I put a photo from Flickr onto a forum thread. Up until now I've just uploaded them using the forum thumbsnap. Wasn't happy with this as the pics tend to be reduced considerably and there's also the awful thumbsnap logo on the pics.. I've created a Flickr account and uploaded some photos on to it but I cant see how to insert a photo onto a thread. All I've managed so far is to insert a link to Flickr. Any help please?

You need to copy the BB code (I think, from memory)?

Nice shot! You shouldn't need to tinker with the link though - it just adds your name + the title of the shot iirc...

ps - in the extreme corners of your shot... filter holder maybe ?

For a forum like this you need to do SHARE (the arrow at the right side of the photo) > BBCode > choose your size > copy and paste link into post body on forum. It's also a good idea to put a line break in the code between the first and second set of URL code tags otherwise it ends up like this :

Thanks. Not too keen on my name being displayed. Re the corners, probably just a bit too much vignetting. Took it last winter. Thanks for your help. All I've got to do now is spend the weekend uploading photo's to Flickr!.

Why is life so complicated irked

You can change your display name. Click the camera icon at the top right of the page. This takes you to your account and somewhere within the settings you can set your display name. When you upload photos to Flickr, you have options to set sharing/publicly visible etc. I wouldn't worry about your name showing - you're clearly talented judging by the pic and the other one you have uploaded so I'd say it's a good thing to show your name and promote your skills, you never know what doors it could open in future. smile

PS. if you'd rather not have your name show publicly here just say and I'll amend my posts above.

Ha! Thank you but I have no future. I smoke cigars and drink alcohol, am married with two teenage kids. My time is limited.
