What’s the best free photo editing software I can download onto my new laptop? Iv searches for lightroom but can’t seem to find a free version? Is this available?

LR is subscription only now sadly.
I moved to ON1 Photo Raw 2018 but it’s not free.
Try looking for Picasso see if that’s till about?
Failing that have you looked through the MS Ap store see what’s about?

Photoscape x is free with most features unlocked. I think it’s pretty good and easy to use. And totally free.

I personally use darktable but it has a bit of a learning curve.

https://www.aftershotpro.com/en/products/aftershot... isn't free but isn't overly expensive and is easier to get to grips with if you're coming from lightroom.

Gimp. It's latest incarnation is a good step forward.

Gimp works for me, and it's more than just photo editing.

Affinity Photo is paid, but good and not subscription based.

Gimp gets my vote.

I use it daily at work even though I have access to Photoshop.
