I'm going away for 7 days, no power outlets and no options for charging batteries. Not even phones. And I've kind of left it too late to buy more... laugh

The current plan is to use my basic, but much loved Nikon F60 and 20-40mm lens for the trip. I know the batteries (and spares) will last plenty.

I'm currently planning on taking:

1 Roll of Velvia 50
1 Roll Provia 100F
1 Roll of Ektar 100
1 Roll Portra 400
2 Roll of tri-x 400 (Lovely texture)

Most of it, apart from the slide film I can develop myself.

I quite like the process, the deliberate act of getting the best you can out the camera (because every shot costs money!) and the otherworldly feel of photos captured on film.

Am I crazy, or has anyone else had the urge for messing around with film in a now completely digital age?

Just go for it. I would.

I've a 1987 Canon EOS650 that I use rarely, but would relish a week away with the thing.

Being off the net, social media, forums and news would be lovely. Not experienced that since my last safari!

I’ve just upgraded from a Canon T50 - Nikon F3/T.
I can’t wait to get back to Vietnam in Oct and take some more “then and now” pictures with the correct lenses.

Not at all. I recently picked up a Canon EOS 30V Date to have another go at film. It was around £60 with 12 months warranty, and works with all my current Canon digital kit.

To really slow things down, I've also subscribed to a kickstarter project for a 5x4 inch large format film camera, which should be interesting when it (hopefully) arrives in November. Looking forward to shooting some 5x4 inch transparencies!
