Smoke?

Need to create some quick and dirty spiralling/rising smoke like you would get from a cigarette. Without a cigarette

Any ideas welcome for my experiment please.

make a hole in a tin, connect a cigarette diameter tube to it. Burn some paper in the tin. Close it. You'd get a minute or so of smoke I should think.

Got a feeling that the smoke pellets might just present their own challenges, but the incense is a good idea. I wonder why I didn't think of it myself. Now I need to get myself down to the local head shop and tell them I want some incense sticks, "because I want to take some snazzy photos". Yeah man they all say that... want to buy a weight as well...
