Going to Egypt in May and am looking for a sensible underwater camera for about £100 or a bit over. Can anyone help. I don't want a Go Pro as you can't see what you are clicking at as well as a camera with a display, or am I wrong?.

Sounds like me a year ago. However, I eventually went way over budget and bought an Olympus Tough which I'm very pleased with. Aside from underwater photography it has a very good macro function.

Bought my 12 year old son one of these. Just about in budget. A good, honest tough camera. https://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/cameras-camc...

The Fuji Finepix XP90 is pretty decent as a durable and waterproof holiday camera. Underwater stuff is never going to be 'Blue Planet' quality but the bright yellow body seemed to attract the fish rather than scare them off.

Funnily enough I've been looking to buy a tough camera for my 8 year old lad and have been sorely tempted by the Fujifilm XP120 Camera which costs between approx £125 - £165 depending upon colour ordered!

The advertising blurb says that it's water-proof to 20m / 65ft and shock-resistant to 1.75m / 5.8ft which sounds mighty impressive.

Note that there is a newer model now available, namely the Fujifilm FinePix XP130, but it's not currently listed and costs a load more money.

Does anyone on here have any experience of using the XP120 because I would really like some user feedback before I go ahead and order one?

The XP120 is just a deeper rated version of the XP90 that I've used (as above). Really easy to use and certainly a good durable holiday beach and pool camera. Picture quality is very much dependant on light and clear water if you use it in the sea, and out of the sea it's a decent 'normal' little camera albeit with rather limited functions. Perfect for a 8 year-old IMHO.

Thanks for the info, I doubt very much my lad will be diving to 20m, for that matter I doubt I would be either, so the XP90 looks good to go smile

Edited to add that the XP90 seems to cost more than the XP120!

Have also checked on the John Lewis website and they are selling the blue version Fujifilm XP120 for £127.99 including a 2 year warranty, and offer a 2 year accidentally damage warranty for an additional £15, I might call into my local JW over the weekend to have a play with it with a view to buying one.
