Has anyone made the upgrade jump from the pro-1 to pro-2? I've had the Pro-1 for about 3 years and had some great trips with it. Totally bought in to the Fujifilm ethos and love the film simulation modes.

All the comparisons say that it's better in every way, but is it better enough to cover the quite considerable cost? Few positives that I see are that I can keep my lenses from the X Pro-1 and also extras like batteries and filters. So just looking at a body on it's own.

Not owned either X-Pros but have had X100, X-E1, X-E2, X-T1 and currently own X-T2 and X100F

The biggest upgrade with the latest cameras is the handling and snappier AF, once you've used the joystick for focus point setting you will not want to go back. IMO X-Trans3 files are much nicer to work with than previous generations of X-Trans sensors (though many love the original X-Pro1 images), are are sharper straight out the box. The shadow recovery us also much better.

The only way to find out is to try one, visit a bricks and mortar shop, or hire one to see if it's the camera for you, I don't think that you will be disappointed.

The X-T1 to X-T2 was a big enough step for me to flex my credit card, I'll think you'll find that X-Pro1 to 2 will be a very significant step.

Thanks for the reply. Feedback on the little joystick is useful as that's one of the features that most interested me. I have the original X100 as well and the step up was massive.

Almost a pure JPEG from the camera shooter, don't muck about with RAW files really. Which was what drew me to Fuji and it's film simulation modes i the first place. Doubt I would use the second SD card slot.

Form factor wise it doesn't seem that different. Might have to see if there's a place nearby that has one in stock.

If you are JPG shooter, then you also get Classic Chrome and ACROS film simulations over the X-Pro1

ACROS is very good, especially in high ISO shooting, the images have a film like appearance (as opposed to digital noise), the colour filters on ACROS are quite nifty as well.

You will notice that higher ISO shooting is much better with decent results at 6400 and 12800.

Hope that helps
