Recently agreed to attend and photo a significant family event for a friend (nothing formal) - will shortly have a good batch of images that maybe 100 or so attendees might enjoy having access to. Don't want to upload to a publicly accessible site so wondering what the current best options are to facilitate self-service access?

Pointers appreciated

I use Pixieset for weddings, its brilliant but like most options I guess it might be difficult to find a service worthwhile/cost effective using for a one-off event.

Canon have an online service call Irista which is free and doesn't restrict the resolution of what you upload. Suggest you check that to see if it fits your requirements. You don't have to be a Canon equipment owner to use it.

I have used Photobox for albums (Photobooks). They are reasonable and often have special offers. The print quality isn't luxury standard but they provide good customer service and will reprint for free if things are badly wrong. The web-site is a bit clunky and the upload process can be tiresome. If you don't want hard-copy you can create them without printing at no cost - just leave them online and copy the link.

I use Pbase.com for mine, cheap around $23 PA & has been very reliable over the 12 odd years I've had it. You can password protect at various levels, do slide shows etc.

Google photos is fine if you want a free service. You can secure the albums/photos to named Google accounts or a generic link.

I either use Flickr or Apple Photos for sharing this sort of albums.

Apple is my go to source. Very good quality - though darker images do tend to come out darker - nothing that can't be tweaked once you know.

Just a note on the online sharing portals - most of them have the option of restricting who can view them.
