Sony Cashback... just missed it, maybe a good thing?
Discussion
So I'm currently in the market for a decent mirrorless camera that has good video "creds" and had narrowed it down to the GH5 or the Sony A6500.
I spent a lot of yesterday looking at reviews, comparisons and lenses etc and settled on the A6500.
Go to push the button this morning and... Bugger... their £150 cashback offer ended today!
However, this gets me thinking, was their cashback offer an attempt to clear stocks before an imminent new release?
The A6500 is over a year old now, and the A7 range is missing a new top-gun.

I think a a6700 *might* be released this year... but not too sure... so you might get a lower price later in the year... I spent a lot of yesterday looking at reviews, comparisons and lenses etc and settled on the A6500.

Doubt it's the main driver ... just a good way to boost sales. Most of the manufacturers do it.The A6500 is over a year old now, and the A7 range is missing a new top-gun.
Cashback was available on lenses as well as cameras.
