Hi
I'm a semi-keen photographer, family snaps, new grandchildren now, a good excuse to upgrade camera...
I've had a Nikon D40 for a fair few years, extra lenses etc
I'm tempted to change to an Olympus OM-DE mk2, some good deals with Jessops
Is it worth paying around £500 to upgrade?
What benefits will I get, or better to stick with the Nikon?

If you've got a few lenses why not a Nikon D3400
What lenses do you own?

Whatever you get I think you'll see a marked difference over the D40.

Which OMD are you looking at ? 1, 5 or 10 ? I'm guessing 5 or 10 with the budget..

I shot m43 for 2 years and am now back with Nikon. If you shoot at high ISO, the m43 sensor will show more noise than the Nikon...in fact, even at 1600 ish you may find it too noisy.

But m43 ( for static subjects ) focuses nearly instantly and they capture amazing detail.

I've just bought my son a d3400 to upgrade from his d3100 and it's pretty good - HDEW had them for £275
