Originally purchased a Jessops 3600 flashgun, to use on my Nikon D3300, but it stopped working so had it replaced under warranty, and then the replacement stopped working. Jessops no longer make them.

So I turned to Amazon to try and find an alternative. Ordered the below CameraPlus item, however it is getting returned to Amazon as it won't turn on properly. Are there any decent 'value' flashguns out there?

I’ve got two of the yongnuo 568 speedlights, and the wireless triggers too.

There may be a newer version out, but mine cost £75 each or so and have never missed a beat....

Amazon.

How about a second hand SB800 speedlight? I’ve had mine for about 15 years and it still works perfectly.

I already had an SB700, but I picked up a secondhand one for less than £100 - great piece of kit

If you just want something that will work first time and willl probably work forever more, the SB700 is great. I find it much easier to use than the earlier SB600 and SB800 though the 800 is more powerful.

If you want to save some money, I've had great success with the Meike 910. It's a chinese copy of the SB910. Make of that what you will but Meike have been around a while and I've found mine to be fantastic.

I have a Nissin Di600, I'm no expert but it seems to do the job. At least, it fires when it's set up to do so, I'm certain that the variance in the end result is my fault rather than that of the flash itself.
