I see these are a popular camera on the forum, which is handy as I've has my MII since it came out.

I've got what, I think, is a common fault, but I've not been able to fix myself. Does anyone have contact details for Sony UK repairs? I've not been able to Google any up.

My camera will act as if the mode selector dial has been turned when it hasn't. I usually shoot in P mode, which gets changed automagically to IA+. This isn't such a big deal, but the video function is almost useless now (it keeps swapping to MR) and reviewing images on the camera can be impossible.

The cause / fix, I've read, is dirt in the mechanism that can be dislodged through rapid dial turning, but this hasn't worked for me. I've just happened across the original receipt for the camera and, given what I paid for it, I want it to be working without buying a new one.

If it wasn't often unusable it'd be a great camera.

I enquired at a big shop about repairs to mine and they really weren't keen, there don't seem to be many spares available. Junking a 300 quid camera didn't feel good although mine had led a seriously hard life!

Google can be really difficult sometimes, knowing what to type in the search box is the hardest bit.

I tried "Sony UK repairs" ... was just lucky I guess wink
