Sony FE 55mm F1.8 Zeiss Sonnar T ordered..

SO after about a year of struggling with a Canon 50mm F1.8 (the cheap plastic 50mm) on an adapter I've finally put down the money on a Zeiss 55mm.

I've only got the kit 28-70mm (which isn't terrible, just slow imo) with my A7 currently and as mentioned above the trusty 50mm has been severely lacking on both the A7 and the 7D that I bought it for (3yrs ago).

This is the last shot I managed to coax out of the the nifty fifty, my 2yr old (2 on the day of the shot! this Sunday!) German Shepherd, out of about 20 shots this is the only one even close to in focus, AF is buggered and the MF ring doesn't.

I haven't been this excited about a bit of kit in a long time. Anyone else got this?

I was very very tempted by it but ended opting for the 35mm Zeiss instead for my Sony A6300. I am still very amateurish and don't have a whole heap to compare it to but I love it so far.

The 55 is a massive step up from the kit lens

The 55 is a dream machine, love it, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with it, on an entitely different level to nifty fifty’s in terms of sharpness wide open, rendering and focus speed.
