Plenty of coastline choices within an hour or so drive of London....

If anyone's ever tempted by Stonehenge - forget it - go to Avebury Stone Circle (and not much further away). Again a couple of hours drive from London.

But you can also go to the end of the Tube line in various directions and there's landscapes to find!

What do you like in your landscapes? Pretty village including church on horizon amidst a farming landscape? Take your pick of the "Home Counties" (any county butting up to Greater London).

That's quite a trip to be fair, a 3 hour drive each way but a good choice!
