This seems substantially cheaper than most other retailers: https://www.e-infin.com/uk/item/2225/sony_cyber-sh...

Is there a catch?

It will be a grey import. There will be no UK warranty so check what sort of cover they provide.

The company is based in Hong Kong. If they don't ship from a UK/European warehouse somewhere you may end up with customs fees to pay on that figure.

the items have been imports, but customer service has been 100%

Hdew are good, I bought my last camera there and am looking at getting another soon. They don't sell the camera the OP is after though.

Probably worthwhile taking a look at Panamoz who are currently selling the Sony RX100 MK3 for £521 http://panamoz.com/digital-cameras/sony.html the price includes delivery in the UK and a 3 year local warranty.

I've not actually used them myself but I haven't read a bad review about them. Apparently they pay all the import and customs charges.

If I had known about them sooner I would have purchased my 5D3 from them due to their 3 year warranty.

I bought the same camera from there back in January and was very impressed with the customer service. I had a few questions prior to placing the order and they were very quick to respond to my emails. No issues at all. I paid the price on the website and it arrived 5 days from placing my order. I even received a photograph of the package as it was being despatched. No Sony UK warranty as mentioned however they do offer their own warranty. For the money saved I thought it was worth the gamble.

I've also used HDEW to buy a Canon 5D Mark 3 - very happy.

I have just purchased from Panamoz and the camera is being shipped direct from Hong Kong according to the UPS tracking. Not sure what the warranty will be.

Well I'm snuffling about for a D500 and found e-infin.com too:

https://www.e-infin.com/uk/item/2954/nikon_d500_di...

Warranty (though possibly RTB which would be a pain), shipping included and no import tax.

The best our friend Kerso can do is £1399 it seems.

But then the 'too good to be true?' button lights up...

If you can wait until it's back in stock, I'd recommend Panamoz for the d500. I got mine + 16-80 from them. The lens had a spec of dust in, I emailed them Friday night, had a response Saturday morning and a replacement lens by Wednesday. They collected the other lens at the same time.

I could have had the lens repaired in the uk - you email them the estimate and they transfer the money to you so you're not out of pocket. I have no experience of this since I went down the replacement route.

Couldn't have been more helpful

HDEW is worth looking at too. They are also UK based. Couldn't see the D500 but they did have the D750 for £1109. I know nothing about the Nikon models but I guess the 750 is newer than the 500? Dunno. Just thought I'd mention it.

The 750 is full frame whereas the 500 is crop.

Thanks guys - Panamoz and HDEW are both out of stock, but I spoke to HDEW who sounded very nice so I'll be going ahead at the end of the week, hopefully.

I have used E-Infinity and they were fine but recently used T-Dimension to buy a Panasonic TZ100 (TZ110 as a grey import but identical) and it arrived quickly.
I used them as they get very good reviews on Trustpilot.
The camera was about £120 cheaper than buying here. It's my 4th compact camera and I've never really had any issues with reliability so warranty has never really come into it.

Have used Panamamoz a lot in the past and always been happy but in December I ordered a Samyang lens from E-Infinity. Was really happy with the service though warranty nothing like Panamoz's. You save a fair bit though so depends on your approach to risk.

I actually ordered another lens from E-Infinity at about the same time and then realised there was cashback on the same lens in the UK nullifying the benefit. Emailed them to cancel, they replied within 10 minutes to say they'd cancelled the order and my refund was with me within hours. Really impressed by that.
