A friend of mine is stripping my car and installing a cage to prepare it for track use. This has got me thinking, what would you do to prepare the car for GoPros and various other toys that can be used to record video and (if allowed) data on track.

I've got a long USB lead taped up under the carpet along a seam that runs to the rollbar from the cigarette lighter, then a mic wire that feeds in from the engine bay through the firewall to get engine noise. I think the only mod I had to do was to change the GoPro housing to a skeleton one and add the rollbar mount which is a clamp rather than any suction pad stuff

I used to do wiring for a living.

The important thing is not to just install a wire. It is to install a duct, with string running down the ducts. This will ensure you run whatever cables you like, and change them if there are problems.
