Buying limited edition prints - what should I know?
Discussion
I'm thinking about buying a print of this picture:

It's £8,000 for a framed 40"x40" silver gelatin print, one of 50, signed by Terry O'Neill. I've never spent anything like this on a picture before and don't know anything about the print market. I really like the picture and the price seems right for a new 40" Terry O'Neill print bought from a gallery, but overall does this seem fair and are there any other factors I should consider before buying?
What does "One of 50" really mean?
Thanks.

For £8K I'd want the swimming pool level.
Just because you like it enough to spend £8K doesn't guarantee anyone else will if/when you decide to sell it. You might get £5K, or £2K, who knows. But if you like it that much, then have it and enjoy it. After a while the money or value isn't important if you enjoy looking at it every day. That to me is the thing about 'art' - buy it to enjoy not as an investment per se.

I have a few, mainly as the originals had been sold or I couldn't afford the £250k!
I certainly wouldn't pay £8k for a limited edition print.
I got this (signed) for £100 as I knew a mate of his - 75 printed. I see they are now for sale at £3,600 (link below)

Surely that will bump the value up?
